Letters from the Front

Another year, another Game of the Year.

2016 is coming to a close, the end of the road is here and it’s time to decide the game to rule them all. I always look forward to Game of the Year, it’s something that I always get excited about because that’s when everybody can come together and discuss the games that they will give Game of the Year.

This year has been exciting for the business of videogames. This year had no shortage of great games, many of them are masterpieces. We had games like Dishonored 2, Battlefield 1, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Overwatch, The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine, and countless others that deserve to be on the list.

The road has been hard fought, this year was hard fought and this is probably the thousandth time that I face a hard decision about Game of the Year because there have been many great games that came out this year and all of them are my favorite games of the year, especially Battlefield 1 a game that I cherish and I deeply identify with as someone who likes the history of World War and always find World War settings fascinating and a game that I also cherish which is Overwatch, a game that deserves to be Game of the Year because it’s a masterpiece of multiplayer design and gameplay. Definitely one of my favorite games of the year.

This year has been a historic one, one to surely live in the history books. There have been no shortage of great games, but it is time to choose one to rule them all. Just like in The Lord of the Rings, “One ring to rule them all.” .

What game will be your Game of the Year? Discuss in the comments below.  Stay tuned for Game of the Year, on December 28th.
