Yesterday, Nintendo did a Nintendo Direct and I totally forgot about it. Whoops. They didn’t waste no time during the presentation yesterday, there’s alot of news to catch up on so I decided to do a recap of the presentation. It didn’t seem too surprising until the end, there were some announcements and reveals that I legitimately got excited for and for a second pondered on getting a Switch because Super Smash Bros. Just like last time, I forgot to write down notes but let’s get right into the recap:
SUPER SMASH BROS!!!!
I love Super Smash Bros, I’m basically the king of it. Wait, I’m actually not the king of it and I suck at it. But indeed, Super Smash Bros is actually happening for the Switch and will be released later on in the year. Splatoon’s inklings is one of the brand new fighters coming to Smash, man I’m starting to ponder on getting a Switch now.
MARIO TENNIS ACES
Mario Tennis Aces will be released this June on the Switch and 15 games will come with it, it’s the first entry to be featured on the Switch. Also, it supports up to 4 player multiplayer online and offline, also Nintendo will be hosting online events and tournaments with special rewards.
LUIGI’S MANSION
A remake of Luigi’s Mansion is coming to the 3DS. You’ll be able to use both screens to navigate your way across the spooky and haunted mansion.
CAPTAIN TOAD: TREASURE TRACKER
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker originally launched on the Wii U back in 2014 will be available on the Switch. I guess this is a remake or remaster? I can’t tell but this new version is based around various Kingdoms in Super Mario Odyssey.
CRASH BANDICOOT N SANE TRILOGY
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will be released on July 10th for Switch and for Xbox One and PC. It’s a remaster of all three original games.
SOUTH PARK: THE FRACTURED BUT WHOLE
The Fractured But Whole is coming to the Switch. Learn how to harness spells, fart your way around South Park, and laugh at classic jokes. Here’s a shameless self plug: Make sure to stay tuned for my First Impressions of The Fractured But Whole, I just picked it up.
HYRULE WARRIORS: DEFINITIVE EDITION
Hyrule Warriors came out on Switch back on 2014 and it is making a return to the Switch this May. I guess it’s a remaster of the original game.
I decided to cover the biggest announcements of the Direct instead of covering the whole thing, I really liked the Dark Souls ambiio. Praise the Sun!
