Letters from the Front

This is exciting news although it is stating quite the obvious.

A couple of days ago, CD Prokject Red CEO Adam Kiciński did an interview with Polish Site Bankier where he confirmed that the Witcher Games will still be a thing, even if they don’t focus on Geralt and his adventures.

The first three Witchers were by definition a trilogy, so we simply could not name the next game The Witcher 4,” he said.” But that doesn’t mean they’ll never return.

CDPR has never hidden its passion for the Witcher games. Back in November 2017, they mentioned continuing the franchise but this interview confirms that they’re at least thinking about the future of the franchise.

I wonder if they’ll take a similar approach to Bethesda Game Studios where Bethesda often switches back and forth from Fallout to The Elder Scrolls. I would like to see the next game focus on Ciri or either allow us to customize our character in the vein of Cyberpunk 2077. I could easily see CDPR allowing us to customize and create a character to get away from established characters and that the meaning of the “Witcher” means more than just an established character, they might even take a page from Dragon Age and allow us to not only play as a Witcher but maybe as a mage or a sorceress.

Anyways, this has been a short news update. Stay tuned for more CDPR related things as we head into the future and Cyberpunk 2077 finally sees release.
