Letters from the Front

The powerful Xbox One X is capable of pushing games out in Native 4K resolution providing you have a 4K TV set with HDR 10. While not all games run at a native 4K resolution due to the dynamic scaling resolution, these titles look the best on the Xbox One X. While you do need a 4K TV to get the full experience of the Xbox One X, many games have superior frame rates and draw distances even on a 1080p set which makes the Xbox One X a super hard product to walk away from. If I had to recommend a few games to go along with your purchase of the Xbox One X, these are the ones that I would recommend.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a stunning game from top to bottom and it looks the absolute best on the Xbox One X. Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in 1899 America, at a time of great expansion that’s coming from the Eastern seaboard. Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in a huge open world, brimming with detail, ambience, staggering photo-realism graphics. The game is a good example of what the Xbox One X can do.

Battlefield V

Set in the early stages of the Second World War, Battlefield V is arguably one of the most fascinating WW2 games this generation. From early war conflicts raging across classic theaters of war to brand new experiences in North Africa, highly destructible environments, 60 FPS, and staggering amounts of details in its maps. Battlefield V is worth your time.

Gears of War 4

Gears 4 was one of the first games to hit the Xbox One X in 4K after a patch 2 years ago. The series has always been known for its ground-breaking visuals, gory details, and more which continues here in Gears 4. Thanks to the Xbox One X, you can experience all the gore in glorious 4K resolution and get to see those meaty pieces of flesh come right off with the Lancer’s chainsaw and on top of Dolby Atmos Support, Gears 4 is an awesome co-op game meant for staying in.

Forza Horizon 4

The Forza series has always been known for its ground-breaking visuals, much like Gears but it’s a powerhouse on the Xbox One X. FH4 outputs a stunning Native 4K resolution based around the beautiful and rich British countryside, few games showcases the true power of the Xbox One X. FH4 much like the rest of the Horizon series is multiplayer racing done right. You don’t want to miss this one.

L.A Noire

Set in a post-war America in 1947, L.A Noire is the definitive detective game of last generation. Originally released on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in May 2011, L.A Noire was remastered for this generation and it is the best looking detective game yet.

Thanks to the extra power that’s within the Xbox One X, L.A Noire’s beautiful setting is brought to life. From facial animations to advertisements and car details, all the small little details that someone tends to often overlook will come to life. Los Angeles in 1947 didn’t look this good on the Xbox 360 and PS3 generation. It may be an odd game but it’s beauty graces us, L.A Noire shouldn’t be missed.

The Witcher 3

The Witcher 3 is the greatest RPG of the generation, even four years after its release The Witcher 3 is a graphical marvel. Very few games can match The Witcher 3 or match how good The Witcher 3’s environments are. Thanks to the extra power of the Xbox One X, the world of The Witcher is brought to life.

Assassin’s Creed: Origins

Assassin’s Creed: Origins and its 400 year old prequel, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, are graphical powerhouses of the generation. Both of these titles showcases the true power of the Xbox One X with its gorgeous backdrops, sprawling landscapes as far as the eye can see, weather effects, and much more. Very few games at this stage of the generation can match what these two games can do in the graphical space.
