Ever since the beginning of time, I have always loved shoes. Shoes, or at least Sneakers, have always been in my life almost as much as videogames. I love them as much as I love videogames and gaming.
My passion for sneakers started in Middle School when I got my first pair of Air Force 1s in 2007, the basic white shoe that every girl seems to be wearing now in 2020 or have always been a thing with them and then the retro of the Air Max 90 in its Infrared color way in 2008. I never took any interest in sneakers like that until 2011 when I got my first pair of Jordan 3s in the iconic black cement colorway, the same shoes that Michael Jordan wore in 1988 and from then on, I fell in love with Sneakers and became part of the sneaker community.
Until now, I have always wanted to start a sneaker blog and write about sneakers. The idea for the blog came from a project that I was assigned back in High School for Art class. We were given the freedom to pick and take a picture of anything and write an advertisement for it and I picked shoes. I was in love with shoes and the shoe game. In sneaker culture, the proper term for someone like me is a “sneaker head” , but I don’t like using the term so instead I use “Sneaker Collector.” , I just started getting into shoes back then and it was becoming a heavy passion.
Well, I took a picture of the Black Cement 3s and went onto photoshop and did a few things and it came out just right. A person’s shoes are unique in many ways. After you lace them up, you forget about them but they’re always there with you. Wherever you go, wherever you do, your shoes are there. Your shoes are a symbol of all the places you have been. Your shoes carry memories behind them, memories that wear down the soles. Shoes aren’t just sentimental, they’re you. Shoes are your personal statement to the world and a statement about you. Personally, I have always been a little different and want to stand out from the crowd; I’m not loud, I’m not colorful, I’m not flamboyant: I’m very low-key, I like being subtle, and a man who stands out not by being loud but by being quiet and making small quiet statements with the sneakers I wear and the clothes I wear; sometimes I feel like I have been ripped from The Man in the Grey Flannel Suit or North by Northwest with the stuff that I have in my closet. It isn’t fun to be the same as everyone else, and the shoes you wear can reflect your individuality and your desire to be unique. There are so many things you can tell about a person just by taking a quick look at their shoes.
